Tourism Industry’s Online Approach Is Working

Online seems to be a good source to be successful in any marketing strategy these days. Online marketing also, is a reliable and cost effective way of marketing. That is why many resorts are depending upon online resources like social networks, blogs and review and photo sharing sites, to meet people and turn them to customers.

The present economic woes and recession is also one of the reasons behind pushing resorts towards finding online as the best source for marketing.

According to the Best Practices study, it was found that resorts have increased their average spending on online for marketing from 10 percent in 2005 to 25 percent in 2008. I don’t know whether this is the main reason behind resorts gaining revenue of $23 for every $1 they spent, in 2008. This was $18 in 2005.

There was another study conducted on Travel’s industry which said that there was a 15 percent increase in online bookings of airline, rental car and hotel reservations.
